For individual customers on a personal scale, there are 3D software companies such as Morphi, SelfCAD, and Sculptris to name a few (3dnatives, 2017). On a larger scale, Autodesk ($16 billion), Siemens ($87.34 billion), and PTC ($5.49 billion) are some of the competitors for Dassault Systemes ($18.25 billion) in the industry (Nanalyze, 2016). The numbers in paranthesis represent the market cap for the organizations. By this measurement, Dassault is a leading competitor in the 3D modeling software industry.
“Each year global drivers spend 384,000,000,000 hours in cars created using Dassault Systemes software.”

The customers of 3D software tend to be large corporations because of expense associated with developing and implementing software to that specific industry. For example, Dassault is partnered with Boeing which is an airplane manufacturer for airlines like Delta and American Airlines. This is good for Dassault because they have high revenue from developing these products. On the other hand, individual customers may feel left out or unaware because they are not able to purchase these products even though they are benefiting anytime they get in a vehicle or fly on a plane.
